OneDrive vs One Drive for Business

OneDrive vs One Drive for Business

OneDrive is Microsoft’s online storage product that is available for both consumers and organizations. OneDrive is a free consumer product that provides access to files and services while OneDrive for Business is for organizations to provide online storage.  How you access the content is different based on the device, client and product that you are using. To access your Atlas storage you can use the following products; computer via Atlas, windows application to synchronize files to your computer or the mobile OneDrive Pro app installed on an iPad, iPhone, Windows Phone or Android.  Please note that you cannot access the Valencia storage from the “OneDrive” application. You can only access the Atlas storage  from  the “OneDrive Pro” application.  At this time you cannot access the Atlas storage from your Apple Computer as there is not a OneDrive Pro application for this operating system.  Microsoft is in the process of developing a client for the Apple computer.

A chart illustrating the different access methods is listed below

It is important to note that there are two different clients available for download that are designed to access one product or another. “OneDrive” will only access the consumer storage while “OneDrive Pro” will only access the business Office 365 products.
