Can I create a rule in Outlook to redirect (forward) my MS Exchange e-mail (valenciacollege.edu) to Atlas e-mail (mail.valenciacollege.edu)?

VALENCIA EMPLOYEES: PLEASE DO NOT FORWARD COLLEGE E-MAILS TO EXTERNAL ACCOUNTS.

DOING SO HAS THE POTENTIAL TO VIOLATE F.E.R.P.A. LAWS

""The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.""

Although this can be done it is important to know that not accessing your Outlook e-mail may impact your ability to schedule meetings using the MS Exchange Calendar. You can integrate your Outlook to access your LIVE@Edu mail.

This redirect can only be done using Outlook Web Access in Internet Explorer Only, which has a direct connection to the server.

  • In Outlook Web Access (webmail.valenciacollege.edu)
  • Click Options > Rules > New Rule > Create a new rule for arriving messages
  • Under Do the following select Forward or Redirect and check redirect it to ?people or distribution lists
  • In the To-> line type in yourusername@mail.valenciacollege.edu
  • Click Save

You will see a message ""This rule will be applied to every message that you receive. Is this correct?"" Click OK

Your rule will appear at the top of the Rules list
