I think someone has gotten into my e-mail account. What should I do?

  1. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDATELY!

For your Outlook e-mail account:

    1. In Outlook Web Access click OPTIONS and on the left column click Change Password
    2. On your computer press CTRL+ALT+DEL select Change Password
    3. Remember to NEVER share your password with anyone
    4. Choose a password that is a combination of alphanumeric characters
    5. Use a complex password.

For your Atlas e-mail account (this is very very serious as anyone can access your personal information):
            On the Atlas log in page click on “Forgot Password?” above the Password field.

  1. CONTACT THE OIT HELP DESK at x5555
    1. We will work with you to assure that your account is again secure

REMEMBER:
Valencia will NEVER ask you to go to a web site to update your user name and password, nor will you ever be asked for your user name and password in an e-mail, unless you initiated the request. Also, never click on a link in an e-mail unless you are absolutely certain you know it is legitimate.
